La Purisima welcomes Carlo Argoti as our new Music Director.
Carlo Argoti comes to us from after serving over 15 years in the diocese of San Bernardino where he served as director of liturgy and music at The Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community in Redlands (2017-2023) and director of music at St. Joseph Church in Upland (2008-2017). In 2013 Carlo graduated from Saint John School of Theology and Seminary, cum laude with a Master of Arts degree in liturgical music where he studied voice, organ, choral conducting and Gregorian chant. Mr. Argoti is originally from Burbank and his home parish is St. Finbar in Burbank where he and his sister attended school and where he first began serving in ministry. He has given presentations on Gregorian chant, Lent/Easter, Advent/Christmas and liturgical music throughout the diocese of San Bernardino both in English and Spanish as well as in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. He also coordinates liturgies for the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress and has been a member of the diocesan choir of Orange since 2016 singing for the dedication of Christ Cathedral in 2019. Carlo was recently selected to be part of the inaugural Mathis Liturgical Leadership Program cohort sponsored by Notre Dame University where he will be developing a project that will include music composed for Eucharistic processions. Mr. Argoti has been married to his beautiful wife Nadia for over nine years and they share a home in Jurupa Valley with their dog Maximus, Latin for “The Greatest”.
Carlo Argoti llega a nosotros después de servir más de 15 años en la diócesis de San Bernardino, donde se sirvió como director de liturgia y música en la Comunidad Católica del Santo Nombre de Jesús en Redlands (2017-2023) y director de música en la Iglesia de San José en Upland (2008-2017). En 2013 Carlo se graduó de la Escuela de Teología y Seminario San Juan, cum laude con una Maestría en Artes en música litúrgica donde estudió voz, órgano, dirección coral y canto gregoriano. El Sr. Argoti es originario de Burbank y su parroquia es San Finbar en Burbank, donde él y su hermana asistieron a la escuela y donde comenzó a servir en el ministerio. Ha realizado presentaciones sobre canto gregoriano, Cuaresma/Pascua, Adviento/Navidad y música litúrgica en toda la diócesis de San Bernardino, tanto en inglés como en español, así como en Los Ángeles y Las Vegas. También coordina liturgias para el Congreso de Educación Religiosa de Los Ángeles y ha sido miembro del coro diocesano de Orange desde 2016 cantando para la dedicación de la Catedral de Cristo en 2019. Carlo fue seleccionado recientemente para formar parte de la cohorte inaugural del Programa de Liderazgo Litúrgico Mathis patrocinado por la Universidad de Notre Dame, donde desarrollará un proyecto que incluirá música compuesta para procesiones eucarísticas. El Sr. Argoti está casado con su esposa Nadia desde hace más de nueve años y comparten un hogar en Jurupa Valley con su perro Maximus, que en latín significa “El más grande”.
